WELCOME to the very first Business and Leisure Directory for Martock produced by M3 – Making the Most of Martock in collaboration with South Somerset District Council and CFIRS – Communities First in Rural Somerset.
When this project was called for by local people little did we know that there were some 400 businesses in the area ranging from the one person working from Home to the major local employers.
The reason for the directory is to ensure that local people can support local industry of all forms and this will have economic benefits to the area as a whole.
We hope to produce another directory in 2 years time and hope that you will find this one useful and will let us have comments and updates.
It is also very pleasing to see that in a “village” which now has a population close to the size of Somerton, and in the surrounding area that there are so many active voluntary bodies of all sorts and we have to congratulate all of the people who give of their time to improve our surroundings in this way.
Long may it continue.
Martock in the 21st Century is determined not to neglect its opportunities.
