Minutes of a special meeting
of the Parish Council held on 29th October 2008 at 7.00pm
Roger Powell Chairman Chris Bell, Patrick Palmer In attendance I.M. Andrews Parish Clerk The Chairman welcomed everyone to the meeting. 114/08 Apologies for absence Apologies for absence were received from Andrew Clarke, Jason Mann, Ann Campbell and Douglas Campbell. 115/08 Declarations of interest There were none. 116/08 Community Emergency Plan for the Parish of Martock The Chairman of the Emergency Management Team, Christopher Price, presented a draft Emergency Plan (Issue No 2) for consideration. He reminded the Council that the original Plan (Issue 1) had been published in Oct 07 and that this had been followed by a Parish Council tabletop exercise in Dec 07 set against an extreme weather scenario. He reiterated that the overall responsibility in the event of
an emergency rested with There followed a discussion during which it was confirmed that the Parish Hall would remain the primary emergency rest centre in the event of an emergency. In order to ensure that parishioners were aware of the plan it was further agreed that the Parish Council would arrange for elements of the Emergency Plan and associated leaflets to be available at the police stand at the Martock Church Fete in June 2009. A piece would also be placed on the Martock web site. Action: 081029/1: Christopher Price After further discussion it was agreed there should be a run through of the Plan prior to a meeting of the Parish Council on 7th January 2009. Afternote: This date has been amended and the run through will take place on 28 January 2009 at 6pm. The Parish Clerk was requested to obtain a set of keys to the Parish Hall and store for the Chairman of the Parish Council. Action: 081029/2: Parish Clerk There being no further business the Chairman of the Council closed the meeting at 7.25pm
